Drunk or Sober. You tell me.
Storytime.

On my 21st birthday, around noon - I got a phone call. My little brother had run over our dog.  She was at the doggie hospital.  I was hundreds of miles away, but was already planning on being home that evening anyway - you see, that same little brother was graduating from high school - valedictorian, the next day.

I immediately hopped in the car and went home, and by the time I got there, they said it was too late to visit her that day.

The next morning, still standing on the lawn on the high school football field, I watched my dad make a phone call to the vet.  He turned to me and said we could go say our goodbyes in half an hour.

I still can’t forgive my perfect little brother for what he did.  I know it was an accident, but I had warned him so many times not to zip around in his stupid sports car.  She was part of our family.

Oh and, I came back to the house and my little brother’s graduation party was happening.

And that, dear friends, I why I hate my birthday.

Truthful Tuesday:

I’ve spent the last hour in tears, being emo about various things. Today just wasn’t a good day.

I’m having quite the “I’m never going to have a boyfriend again, I hate my life ugh wtf” day. I’m always second rate next to my best friend here. Needless to say, it sucks.

Recieved a text from my mother saying my letter to the editor of our hometown newspaper was published. I know she’s not lying because I didn’t even tell her that I was writing a letter… anyway - I’m very happy to have it read by the community I grew up in.

The backstory: I grew up in a small town, part farmland part houses, mostly farmland - but we have a (in my opinion) good school system. While other schools struggled we had always done well - but apparently after I graduated and the recession hit, things changed. My youngest brother is a junior in high school. This was the 3rd attempt (the first being last november and this may) to pass an emergency school levy to save many programs in the district. If the levy failed, all music and art from pre-k to 12th grade would have been discontinued, as well as every honors and AP class at the high school and middle school. As a student who had taken virtually every class as an honors or AP class, I was pretty saddened to hear my baby brother wouldn’t have the same opportunity… quality of life should only get better over time, not worse.

Moral of the story is that the levy passed this time, thankfully. It passed with 50.1% of the vote. In a small community as ours, the final tally was a difference of less than 100 votes. Insane. Anyway, I wrote a letter to my hometown. Here’s what I said:

I am very grateful to the Sunbury community for the education I received at Big Walnut - I couldn’t have asked for a better place to grow up. I’m proud say I graduated from Big Walnut High School. Thank you to everyone who has supported the school levy, the bright minds of tomorrow are being cultivated by your efforts. They deserve every opportunity in the world.

I want to know where you got your hotness verified? I am pretty hot myself! I mean it's 85 degrees in here but I need it verified. If you could be in a car going 120 miles an hour would you want to be the driver or the passenger?

You get your hotness verified in prison. or at the Equator.

And I would definitely want to be the driver.  Pfft! Obviously, I wanna be in control.  I don’t trust bitches.

i love love loooove taking pictures of scenery - and this is one of my favorite places to have visited… This is Lake Lucerne in Switzerland, and the high up photos are from a gondola coming down off of Mount Pilatus, which overlooks the lake.

Dear Tumblr-land,

I set up my ASK feature fo sho this time - see the button on the right? Much thanks to MisterElGuapo for the assistance.

And no, Capsaholic. I DO NOT SHARE MY JACK! ARE YOU CRAZY? 24 BUCKS A FIFTH AND YOU WANT ME TO DONATE IT TO THE INTERNET?

xoxoxoxoxoxo,

How do you do the ask thing? Like this? Does anyone really want to ask me things, anyway?

New Plan

findingahusband:

This is foolproof. I will find a venue on Foursquare that has a cute guy as the mayor. I will visit that place, check in constantly, and finally usurp his mayorship. When he finds out that I’m now the mayor of his favorite/most frequented place, he will decide that we have to meet. So he will message me and suggest we do coffee or have drinks. We will meet, fall in love, make babies and live happily ever after. The end.

pure and utter genius. i am *totally* going to do this.

So here’s the deal -
Tonight: Business Casual Drinks & Dinner with the interviewers
Tomorrow: Presentation to 6 Interviewers + VP of Sales then (3) 1-on-1 interviews
Next 4 Weeks: Check email every 5 minutes for a potential job offer :/

The real world is scary.

I kinda feel like puking. And no, this is not alcohol related. I’m just having a really rough day. Not to mention, I have a final interview for a job tomorrow and Friday. No pressure.
